Clinical Supervision for Nevada MFT Interns & Therapists

Supervision should do more than review cases. It should help you think more clearly, practice more ethically, and become the therapist you want to be. Sam Richardson, LMFT offers focused clinical supervision and advanced case consultation for therapists who work both inside and outside Las Vegas Therapy.

Sam is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, a Nevada Board-approved supervisor, an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, founder and clinical director of Las Vegas Therapy, and an experienced university instructor and clinical mentor. He brings more than 20 years of clinical experience to therapist development.

LICENSURE SUPERVISION FOR NEVADA MFT INTERNS

Sam may provide primary or secondary supervision for eligible Nevada marriage and family therapy interns when availability, work setting, and each Board-approved supervision agreement permit. Supervision is developmentally focused: early-career clinicians receive structure and clear feedback, while more experienced interns are challenged to strengthen judgment, flexibility, and professional identity.

ADVANCED CLINICAL CONSULTATION FOR LICENSED THERAPISTS

Licensed clinicians can request consultation when a case, specialty area, or professional transition calls for senior-level support. Common areas include complex couples work, infidelity and betrayal, problematic sexual behavior, attachment injuries, trauma, EMDR case conceptualization, and development as a clinical supervisor. Consultation is collaborative and designed to translate insight into decisions you can use in the room.

What Supervision and Consultation Can Include

Depending on your goals and the applicable requirements, supervision or consultation may include:

• Case presentation, diagnosis, and treatment planning

• Review of recorded sessions when clients have given appropriate informed consent

• Ethical decision-making, documentation, boundaries, and risk management

• Couples case conceptualization and work with high-conflict or betrayed partners

• Trauma-informed pacing, stabilization, and EMDR case conceptualization

• The therapist’s use of self, emotional responses, and therapeutic presence

• Professional identity, private-practice development, and preparation for independent practice

• Guidance for clinicians who are becoming supervisors or practice leaders

WHO THIS MAY FIT

This service may be a strong fit for Nevada MFT interns working outside Las Vegas Therapy, licensed therapists seeking advanced consultation, practice owners who want focused training for their teams, and experienced clinicians who want thoughtful support with difficult cases. The emphasis is on sound clinical reasoning, ethical practice, and skills that generalize beyond a single client.

HOW TO APPLY

When you contact us, include your license type, current licensure status, work setting, supervision or consultation goals, and preferred start date. We will clarify whether Sam’s experience and current availability fit what you need.

IMPORTANT CREDENTIAL DISTINCTIONS

Nevada licensure supervision must follow current Board requirements and an approved supervision agreement. Advanced consultation for licensed therapists is different from Board-required licensure supervision. Sam is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist; his EMDR consultation is not represented as counting toward EMDRIA certification unless he obtains the separate EMDRIA Approved Consultant credential.
