Sam Richardson is a highly trained and deeply compassionate marriage and family therapist with a specialized focus on helping individuals and couples navigate complex issues such as infidelity, problematic sexual behaviors, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression. He is known for his ability to hold a safe, attuned space for clients while guiding them toward meaningful and lasting change.
Sam has completed extensive advanced training in several leading therapeutic models, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed approaches. His integrative, evidence-based practice allows him to tailor treatment to each client’s unique emotional and relational needs.

He provides expert supervision to therapists across all stages of their professional journey—from graduate-level interns and post-graduate associates working toward licensure, to advanced clinicians seeking consultation and training in becoming clinical supervisors themselves. His supervision style blends developmental sensitivity, clinical insight, and a passion for empowering therapists to deepen their therapeutic presence and skill.
Sam is also an experienced public speaker, frequently sharing insights on trauma, couples therapy, and therapist development in professional and academic settings.
