Using tricks with eye movement, tapping, light bars, you can work with a therapist to bring the logical and the emotional parts of your brain together simultaneously to work thru bad memories again with a more collected and grounded point of view.

EMDR takes special care of these emotional states by using some of the same tricks your body uses when dreaming. The REM sleep cycle uses Rapid Eye Movement the same way as EMDR therapy but when you visit with our clinicians, you will be the one deciding how you want your brain to see things moving forward.

Trauma doesn’t mean the same thing in mental health as it does in physical health. In short, if you were upset, disturbed, afraid, or any other form of emotionally reactive, that was probably trauma. If you remember it or not, if it changed how you react to events around you, it’s very likely something EMDR can help with.
